  "THE ULTIMATE WOOD BURNING SYSTEM"

~SAFE~

Thermo-Control models have been successfully tested and listed by the Energy Testing Laboratory of Maine per U.L. Standards 737 & 1482, ETLM Standard 78-1 and CSA Standard B366-M1979 for radiant heat, hot water central heat and hot water supply. They are approved for installation on a nationwide basis. Listed by Southern Building Code Congress International (Report 8086) Heating units also recognized by International Conference of Building Officials. (Report 3677)

Superior Product Quality

  1. TWO COMBUSTION CHAMBERS. For the most heat from the least wood.

  2. THERMO-CONTROL THERMOSTAT. Automatically provides even heat for hours - without reloading.

  3. VERSATILE. Easily adapts to existing hot water or forced warm air heating system. Can produce domestic hot water too.

  4. SAFE. Thermo-Control models have been successfully tested and listed by the Energy Testing Laboratory of Maine per UL 1482, ETLM Standard 78-1, and CSA Standard B366-M1979 for radiant heat, hot water heating and supply, and warm air central heat. They are approved for installation on a nationwide basis.  Recognized by International Conference of Building Officials (Report # 3677) and also listed by the Southern Building Code Congress International (Report # 8086). Stoves by National Stove Works included in Tennessee Valley Authority wood stove program.

  5. CUTS COSTLY FUEL BILLS INSTANTLY. With today's fuel prices (2008) One million BTUs of wood heat generally costs 75 percent less than oil or gas heat. Compare values of various heating fuels

The Thermo-Control Thermostat

Like most great ideas, the Thermo-Control thermostat is simple.  It consists of three parts and a protective metal box.  The part you see is the manual adjustment handle.  You just turn it up for more heat, or down for less.  With a little practice you'll quickly find the adjustment most comfortable to you.  Inside the box is the Thermo-Coil - which is really the heart of the thermostat.  The heat-sensitive coil is attached to a damper closure door.  As the temperature goes up, the coil reacts to close down the closure door, limiting the fire's air supply.  As the heat goes down, it does the reverse, letting in more air, making the fire burn hotter.  These adjustments are automatic - with the effect of keeping the heat where you set it.  Result: you can set the Thermo-Control at a comfortable level and forget about it for hours - with the absolute assurance of both safety and maximum burning efficiency.  Fires live on air.  Yet cold air cools fire down.  Unless it is sufficiently preheated, air creates smoke and creosote.  Dilutes efficiency.  For complete combustion, you need air that's hot before it hits the fire.  And with Thermo-Control, that's just what you get.  Air is preheated in two separate chambers.  And we mean preheated, not just warmed up a little.  This pre-heating means maximum efficiency.  Cleaner burning.  Plus, virtually total consumption of wood gases - which represents 60% of wood's energy content

All models feature a closed loop water system

Thermo-Control Features & Benefits

RUGGED EXPANSIVE FIREBOX

Constructed of 1/4" & 3/16" thick hot rolled steel

Top and sides are one continuous piece

Continuous welds are made at all interior seams

Air tight construction

THERMOSTATIC CONTROL

Automatically controls primary air intake

Provides even, constant

Aids in regulating heat transfer to rooms

Encased in protective box

DOWNDRAFT PRIMARY AIR CHAMBER

Preheats primary air for hotter combustion

Begins downdraft and crossdraft combustion process by
directing primary air to bottom of stove

SECONDARY AIR TUBES

Provides additional preheated fresh air to secondary combustion
chamber for almost total combustion of volatile gases and smoke

Aids in providing hotter exhaust air, thus reducing creosote and
soot buildup in the smoke pipe and flue

SECONDARY COMBUSTION CHAMBER

Allows for near total combustion of volatile gases which have
passed under the baffle, thus optimum combustion efficiency.

Assures hotter flue gas temperatures which minimize possibility
of creosote buildup

BAFFLE BYPASS DAMPER & CONTROL ROD

By opening the bypass damper the exhaust gases and smoke are
allowed to vent directly to the smoke pipe, thus eliminating
backdrafting at the door when loading, stoking or removing ash

Direct venting will also provide for faster ignition when starting
a new fire or adding logs

COMBUSTION BAFFLE

Designed to force volatile gases to circulate over fire bed for hotter
more efficient combustion

Government test results show this Thermo-Control exclusive feature
results in "the lowest emissions and highest efficiency of any type
stove tested"

FIREBRICK LINED COMBUSTION CHAMBER

Provides insulation protection to the stove bottom and aids in
protecting floor on which the stove is set

LARGE REINFORCED DOOR & GASKETED DOOR SEAL

Large opening allows for easy and efficient loading, stoking,
and ash removal

Heavy gasket provides air tight construction for better
combustion control

LARGE FLAT TOP SURFACE

Provides added plus in that it can be used as a constant
supply of heat for cooking

Large surfaces transfer more heat to the room

HEAT RESISTANT MATT BLACK FINISH

Resistant to 1200 degrees F

Can easily be touched up or refinished if scratched

TIGHT LOCKING HANDLE

Draws door tightly closed to provide air tight seal

handle designed to be "cool" to the touch

SAFETY APRON

For catching and easily removing any ashes spilled
while cleaning

STOVE PIPE COLLAR

Designed for "inside" smoke pipe connection to eliminate
creosote drip

WIDE STANCE ADJUSTABLE LEGS

Permits easy leveling and safe stabilization on stove

THERMO-CONTROL
The logical choice

The Legacy Burn Chamber

All Thermo Control wood burning stoves utilize two burn chambers
